Dr. Birgit Meyer is Visiting KCG
Dr. Birgit Meyer, Assistant Professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and KCG External Research Fellow, currently has her research visit at KCG. She will stay at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy until August 10, 2018. Before she joined the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2016, she was a research fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and the University of Kiel where she also earned her doctoral degree.
Meyer’s research focuses on topics that are of central relevance for the KCG research. She focuses mainly on investigating the impact of globalization and gaining more insights into activities of multinational enterprises, foreign direct investment and trade. She has also carried out research in the field of foreign aid and economic development. Meyer visits KCG and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy regularly for facilitating research cooperation and knowledge exchange. She also joined the UNIDO-KCG Conference 2017 “Developing Inclusive and Sustainable Global Value Chains in the Digital Age” in Kiel and gave a presentation “How Deep is Your Love? Innovation, Upgrading and the Depth of Internationalization” there.
