Haiou Mao from the Wuhan University (China) is Visiting KCG as a Guest Researcher
Dr. Haiou Mao from the Wuhan University, China, is visiting KCG as a Postdoc Guest Researcher from March 1, 2019 to February 29, 2020. Mao as an awardee of a scholarship granted by the Sino-German Science Centre (Chinesisch-Deutsches Zentrum für Wissenschaftsförderung) plans to work on her project entitled “Foreign Divestment and Former Foreign Firm’s Innovation Performance”.
In this research she will use Chinese firm-level data to investigate whether the divestment by foreign firms has a detrimental effect on the innovation performance of the local firms concerned. Her research interests lie in the fields of foreign direct investment, global value chains, regional integration and innovation. During her stay in Kiel, she will work in close cooperation with Prof. Holger Görg, Ph.D., KCG Managing Director, and other colleagues at KCG and at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
