KCG Researchers Visited Micro-econometrics Summer School in Barcelona, Spain
KCG PhD Researchers, Thilo Kroeger, Finn Ole Semrau, and Frauke Steglich, joined the Microeconometrics Summer School offered by the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (Barcelona GSE) from June 25 to July 6, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. It is of high importance for KCG to support the academic training of its researchers, particularly that of the PhD Researchers.
Kroeger, Semrau and Steglich attended two courses of the Summer School: ‘Panel data linear analysis’ and ‘Econometrics of cross-section data’. The former was lectured by Professor Badi Baltagi at the Syracuse University, and the latter was taught by Professor Jaume Garcia-Villar at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Both courses provided advanced training in both theoretical econometrics and its application on real world examples. Visiting these courses was useful for the KCG PhD Researchers’ own research which is mainly based on analyzing different micro-level datasets.
The Barcelona GSE is a leading school of postgraduate training in economics and related fields in Europe. The Summer School is a substantial part of its profile. In total eight different course packages in a diverse range of fields are offered. Leading international academics and practitioners are appointed as lecturers.
